This comprehensive program will focus on improving the individual skills of Skating, (including cross-overs, acceleration, agility, edge control, stopping, power turns and efficient stride.), Puck Control, Shooting and Passing. Drills will be geared to the highest caliber of each camp. The scoring portion of each program will specifically concentrate on the skills needed to put the puck in the net. Wrist, Snap, Slap and Backhand shots will be broken down so that each student understands how each shot works, and when to use it. Other scoring techniques taught will include; one touch shooting, deflections, deking, tight wrap-arounds, give-and-gos, getting open without the puck and much more….
Performance Training Description
The off-ice fitness training will take place in our 2000 sq ft training center in rink #2 at RINX. Students will be working on basic and advanced training routines, based on their level. The training program will include balance & agility, upper and lower body strength, speed, quickness & mobility, conditioning and flexibility. Students will work at their own level under the guidance of our fitness training staff. Each student will receive a complete fitness assessment which is comprised of a variety of standard fitness testing exercises.
NOTE: Due to ice conflicts the total ice time for this camp may be reduced.
